In-N-Out Animal Fries

I have a problem.

I am a little bit obsessed with In-N-Out Burger.

Every couple of years, my family and I make a trip down to California for visiting family and Disneyland....and In-N-Out Burger.

One time, we drove to visit my aunt in Nevada and we drove 14 hours straight from Montana to Reno just because we wanted In-N-Out for dinner that night. Yeah....a little obsessed I would say!
When we went to California this summer, we were there for 9 days and we ate In-N-Out 6 times!
It's kind of an illness.

If I didn't love the food enough, I absolutely love their merchandise!
Yep....that's a keychain!

I believe water tastes better in this cup. Don't judge.

And I have fridge magnets too. Now I'm embarrassed.
Yes, that is little me.

I don't even want to go there when it comes to my In-N-Out shirt.
I wear it all the time....

So when I go through years of not having my beloved In-N-Out, I need a fix to get me through the cravings. With the help of my mom, we have recreated Animal Fries!

This is what you are going to need:
-1/2 package of Fast Food French Fries
-1/2 large Yellow Onion finely minced
-1 tbsp Butter
-4 slices of American Cheese
-4 tbsp of Litehouse Original Thousand Island Dressing
-Salt

To get the most effective French Fry, I found that these Fast Food French Fries work best.

Lay them out into a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to the packaging.

While the french fries bake, mince your onion.

In a pan, melt 1 tbsp of butter in the pan and add the onions. Cook the onions till they are a dark brown and caramelized.

Once the french fries are done, sprinkle them with a little bit of salt and move them to a smaller baking dish.

Place 4 slices of American Cheese on top.

Sprinkle the grilled onions on top of the cheese.

Place the baking dish into the oven (it should be about 450 degrees from baking the fries) and let the cheese melt on top of the fries (about 2-3 minutes)
Oh my goodness.
Hello Beautiful.

Now this next part is important, so listen closely....
You MUST use Litehouse Original Thousand Island Dressing. Not Kraft or Western Family, this is the only Thousand Island Dressing that actually tastes like their "Secret Sauce."

Spoon about 4 tbsp of dressing on top of the fries....

And spread it out over the onions and cheese.

DIG IN!!!!
Ignore the fact it looks like puke because it’s delicious!!!!

  1. I have never had In-n-Out. Heard about it. Ohio stinks for good burger chains. We just got Five guys and Smash Burger is about to open.

  2. I love 5 Guys! We have one here in Zootown. They are kinda like In-N-Out because they use fresh beef and buns. Not frozen!

  3. Fun! My husband would love these. His family is big into Disneyland too and always eat at In-n-Out at least a couple of times each trip. PS, I'm from Montana too, grew up in Billings. :-)
